DANCE TEACHER: Claire - bringing 20 years of French and Swedish folk dance experience:

Claire lives to dance!
She has been clocking up dance miles at classes and folk festivals in England and France for over 20 years now
and welcomes newcomers on to the dance floor - at whatever age or experience.
She loves the zing and swirl of French dance and the beautiful gracious rhythms and svikt of Swedish dance.
And, to dance to wonderful, foot-tapping, live music is so exhilarating such a treat.
If you miss the afternoon Workshop, don't let it stop you coming to the Bal

MUSICIANS: Bill, Petra and Jagger Folk played with Claire at the delightful Grand Whitsta-Bal in October 2014.
and will play a variety of exciting French tunes.

Kerstin:

Kerstin Backlin is a Swedish fiddler who has been living in Copenhagen for many years,
teaching folk music - playing and dancing. She has especially been interested in the connection
between music and dance, and to get deeper into the different traditions from many regions of Sweden.
What's special with the polska rhythm? How can we get the character and help the dancers move forward?

In the tune workshop (5 - 6pm: £3.00), please bring your instruments be it a
nyckelharpa or a tin whistle
to learn a few melodies by ear
(from a simple langdans to a good, marked polska) - all levels welcome.
You are most welcome then to play these newly learnt tunes at the bal in the evening....
what more could you want????
